Thanks for having this Facebook page. My father, Verlund Stevens, served on the Belle Grove in the 1950's and always enjoyed the reunions while he was alive. He passed away July 12, 2008 in Des Moines, Iowa. I am working on possibly presenting a paper at a conference next October and am looking at an oral history of teh men who served on the Belle Grove.

My dad served on the USS Belle Grove. I've got this picture of the crew in the dry dock area of the ship. He served on her during WWII from 4-43 to 4-46
