UW Botanic Gardens October Spooktacular at the Arboretum offers rain or shine Halloween fun for families with kids ages 6-12. Search for freaky fungi, creepy crawlies & hunters that “haunt” the arboretum. Bring your own flashlight! Plus games, crafts. Drop in 4-8pm, $6.

More than 80 people showed up for the last Union Bay Natural Area restoration work party. Wouldn't you like to be in the middle of that? Students, neighbors and alumni are invited to get in on UBNA's second restoration work party of fall quarter Sat. Nov. 7.
We love building community as we improve our backyard ecosys...tem. Laurelhurst neighbors, students from ESRM 100, the UW student guild of the Society for Ecological Restoration, ESRM 478 and ESRM 362, plus a collection of SFR faculty, alumni and grad students have all pitched in.
If you're in a class with a restoration or environmental volunteer requirement this quarter, this event will fulfill that requirement.
Meet at the kiosk adjacent to Merrill Hall (west side, off Wahkiakum Lane) at 8:45 AM. From 9am to 11am, we'll work on the 2007 ecological restoration plots and the SFR Alumni's Centennial Grove.
Bring a water bottle and work gloves. Dress for the weather.
