Hey, Brian. Yes, we do have those in stock. Are you still thinking of coming by Friday? If so, let me know what time so I can be sure to be here. If around lunch time, maybe we could do lunch.

It will probably be before lunch, but if you don't mind and early lunch, I don't either. I'll call you when I get back to the office.

Brady Driver

Brady Driver Jim, I am a head wrestling official in MI. Looking for a new source as well. Question on the 5" wristbands- are they Cliff Keen? Thanks!

That's great! Thanks for your interest. We tried another supplier at one point on those wristbands (felt they were too tight) and came back to Cliff Keen for those. So yes, those are Cliff Keen. Flip disks are as well and the only 2 items we have from them.

I have a comment I would like to throw out to those of you that officiate baseball. Why has no one ever considered using a football helmet like the new Riddell speed for baseball? If you look at that helmet it appears to be one of the safest helmets in the current market. the helmet covers the entire head and the on...ly drawback I see are having to wear a chinstrap for balancing the helmet, which can hinder the time it takes an official to take the helmet off during a bang bang play. Otherwise, trying it might not be so bad?Read More

Interesting thought. I took a look at the helmet and one fundamental issue appears that the opening is so big a baseball would probably go through it.

Personally, I would object to the weight. Even if it was modified with a baseball mask, I cannot imagine wearing something that heavy for up to 3 hours. It would effectively double the weight of current HSM devices. I'll continue to take my chances with an ultralight mask.

Thanks for your question but we do not have those in long sleeves. My suggestion would be a long sleeve black or white undershirt to go with a short sleeve kids shirt.

Again, why not go with the Riddell Speed Helmet. Are we all just saying no because it is a football helmet?

Oh I got it now, because Riddell is the only that sells their product, I guess that would be a no?

Brian, thanks for your question.

I really like these Manzella Trekker Gloves. They are close to waterproof and warm as you can get without being a bulky ski glove and still have a professional, streamlined, all-black appearance.

Ump-Attire.com just had a conversation with Mark Letendre, head trainer of MLB umpires, about the subject of mouthguards for umpires. This is my first conversation with him. Details to come later, but a nice referral to a contact at the University of Pittsburgh who is, as I understand it, one of the leading research institutions on this subject.
