| Mission: | To improve lives by mobilizing the caring power of communities. |
UWSLO Youth Board members learn about the community and some of the resources that are provided to our most vulnerable populations, make their voice heard on meaningful issues, and make a difference in the community.
As Youth Board members, students fulfill many of the same duties as a Board of Directors, most notably providing funding to youth projects and programs.
We have the money. YOU decide who gets it.
Some other activities that members participate in are:
- Grant reading
- Event Planning
- Fundraising
- Learning about the community
High school students (ages 13-19) from San Luis Obispo County are eligible to participate in the UWSLO Youth Board program. Students wishing to complete the program must make a commitment to regularly attend meetings, actively participate, and serve for the entire school year.
