Unity College The admissions department just had a meeting with Jesse Pyles, Unity's Sustainability Coordinator, about how to be more "green" and better about energy conservation in the Welcome Center...we are all still learning and trying harder to do our best!

I would really like to see the windows in Eastview replaced. The draft is UNBELIEVABLE. If we are going to replace the building soon, then it'd be pointless. But if not the school should offer to fix the windows. Even the plastic cover stuff would help lower the costs of heating. Really kinda curious as to where the money goes also. Is there a way we can veiw the schools budget for the year?

BULLDOZEWOODHALL!! NEVERRR it's a part of unity history! not only that, it's in perfectly good shape!

Tom Coyle Gandhi once said "you must be the change you wish to see in the world." Unity, start changing, because you aren't practicing what your preach. Most of the students are the one's who could teach the employees about being "green."

Tom Coyle I think the cafeteria is going to be really gloomy without a Mrs. Cheryl Montana to brighten everyone's day. There are only a few faculty and staff members who eat in the cafe regularly and they know how easy it was to talk to mama, maybe the entire campus should eat there, employees included to see what it's like. It has so much potential to be an entirely green cafeteria, serving only local or organic foods, but instead the monies are spent on the "ultimate plan" for what the campus will look like by 2050. If the board of trustees wanted to see that blueprint become real, they should start making Unity really America's environmental college, by practicing more environmentally friendlier things. Organic foods is one of them. There is no need to only be allowed enough money for a budget to buy bananas from Chiquita, who is involved in deadly militant dealings, or chicken from Tyson, which is the same company that provides KFC it's "Kentucky fried cruelty".

hey Tom...being a farmer and all...i noticed some areas around the campus on one of my trips up there that looked just perfect for growing crops...would it be possible to get a group going to plant produce for the cafe to serve to make it even more green as you said Tom? that would be incredible, cuz idk about you I love eating the stuff i grow on ... Read Moremy farm, not only is it organic but I put in the time and effort to grow it and i get to enjoy it afterwards, kinda the fruits of my labor.
just a thought
just a thought
Tom at 7:12am June 28
Well during the summer and fall and sometimes winter months we do get produce from the community garden down the hill, but it's impossible to have it year round.
AJ at 7:13am June 28

Olivia Rae so for freshman, is there guy/girl room mates? is that common?

Clover at 5:47am June 13
that woudl have to be a mistake. What's the person's name? You should definitely give Steve Nason a call, the Director of Residence Life.
Joe at 11:17am June 17
Sometimes Steve just looks at names and maybe it's Chris or Sam...could be a guy or a gal. He will fix it if he hasn't already done so:)

Brian Carolan Is there a way to access the bookstore online? I would like to buy a sweatshirt.
John at 6:15am May 8
Hi Brian, I'm John Z. I teach philosophy and humanities. I don't think we're set up to do online orders, but if you call (207) 948-3131, then ask for Leigh I'll bet she can hook you up. The "Will Hafford" is a great heavy hooded sweatshirt - mine is Brown with green block sewn-on letters.
Brian at 3:00pm June 5
GREAT - thanks, John! It would be great if we got set up for online orders....Brian
