Upstart Theatre presents WATER SCULPTURES / ZOO
A double bill of new plays by Dawn King
Directed by Tom Mansfield and Jessica Beck
ZOO
In the middle of an unidentified conflict, the animals in the park zoo find themselves abandoned. When two mysterious strangers arrive in the night, the Tiger, the Chimp and the Slow Loris ...are forced to choose between the apparent safety of their cages and the uncertain freedoms of the outside world in this imaginative, comic and darkly original drama.
WATER SCULPTURES
At the start of the 2012 Olympic Games, a massive flood destroys the Olympic Village and most of the city. An artist, an athlete and an office worker find themselves on a roof top. How will they survive the night – and is a sculpture still meaningful if it doesn’t even float? A surreal, visceral and darkly comic exploration of how we cling to our dreams – and how we survive without them.

Upstart Theatre Launch party - 26th March 2008 - click the link or visit our website for details!

Upstart Theatre
Upstart Theatre is delighted to announce our LAUNCH PARTY at Clapham High Street's fabulously bohemian Railway Tavern. It's a chance to celebrate a new era for us as a Limited Company (we have a number and everything, which Tom and Steve are both far too excited about) and to thank everyone who's ever worked with us, s...een one of our shows and/or supported us during the last few years.
There will be drinks, there will be music, and there will be a chance to find out about our exciting plans for this year and beyond. And best of all, it's free to get in. We want to make our launch just like our shows - exciting, stimulating and a thoroughly good night out.
Doors open from seven. We'll see you there!
