Upstate Homeless Coalition
Homelessness is no longer a distant term, but it has become a reality for many of our neighbors who have lost their jobs and/or homes. many fmilies are now "doubling up" with relatives and friends, living in cars, motels, and shelters to avoid the contant pressurs of "homelessness".

Upstate Homeless Coalition Many thanks to the 20 volunteers from agencies and Anderson University who on August 22 sponsored an event for the transitional program participants from Anderson and Seneca. There were also program participants from the Anderson Sunshine House. The 4 hours of activities for all ages included arts & crafts, sports, and... games. There were also school supplies and door prizes. Everyone had a good time.
Upstate Homeless Coalition During Homeless Awareness Week (the week before Thanksgiving) there will be a production performed by our summer interns Kenny Pitts, James Williams, and the Phillis Wheatley Repertory Theater. This will be unique, informative, and impressive as these young people are very talented. Stay tuned for more information.

Our summer interns from Phillis Wheatley are providing the elbow grease along with the family and friends they have commandeered. We also hope to sell donuts while the cars are being washed. All donations will go toward Housing Programs. Hours are from 9 am to 1 pm.
