UrbanFaith.com If nothing else, commentator Shlomo ben Yaakov believes Obama's presidency has changed how we think about ourselves.

bit.ly
A year after Barack Obama's historic election, his progress report is incomplete at best. But his presence in the White House has already brought overdue healing to the African American imagination -- and potentially to many others.

While I don't favor or trust in most of President Obama's promises, I'm deeply grateful that he is in office. Simply breaking an older pattern, no matter whether we like the immediate result or not, will effect a chance we deeply need.

Although I am kinda irritated with the concept of White family saves lowly poor black kid and brings him religion, I am excited to see this movie. It is based on a true story. And even though the story seems very mid-90's and over done, truth is "This is still a reality in America today". I hope Sandra B puts it down (slang for I hope she does a wonderful job). I'm going to see a screening tonight. I will tell you what I think.
