This will be my third meatless Thanksgiving. There are so many things to be grateful for today but I am especially thankful with my decision to give up meat. Be conscious of what you put in your body and give thanks. Be Grateful.

Gwen Woodcock

Gwen Woodcock O.K..after a particularily challenging day, I found myself craving some processed sugar laden chocolate disaster something or other. Thank goodness I found this recipe in Raw food Made Easy by Jennifer Cornbleet. I made it and had a guilt/white sugar free most amazing chocolatey experience that made me feel like everyt...hing is right in my world..

*Chocolate Mousse*
1/4 cup pitted medjool dates (soaked for about 30 to 45 mins.)
1/4 cup maple syrup or agave nectar
1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
3/4 cup mashed avocado ( I used one larger avocado)
1/4 cup and 2 tablespoons unsweetend cocoa powder
1/4 cup water

-Drain dates and put in food processor with sweetener and vanilla, blend until smooth.
-Add avocado and cocoa powder and blend until smooth stopping to scrape down the sides of the bowl.
-Add water gradually, and blend briefly. Serve chilled or at room temperature

Okay, so I'm about to make my vegan chcolate pie for the first time- chocolate chips, silken tofu, and vanilla. Have any of you make this before or do you know of different variations? I am nervous but willing to experiment.

This article is about a carnivore who goes looking for turkey for Thanksgiving dinner, but instead adopts two turkeys and brings them home to her backyard. "How can I kill one or even both of them when they're just settling into their marriage, into their new home?"

The end-goal of a collective force known as the animal liberation movement is the complete liberation of nonhuman animals from human use, enslavement, domination and killing. I can see only one way leading to the realization of that goal. It’s the consisting in:

In nyc there are so many good ones; I always liked Angelica Kitchen (12 St. East Village), Tien Garden (Sullivan St. Lower East Side), Vegetarian Palate (Flatbush Ave. Brooklyn), The Greens (Montague St. Brooklyn Heights), Souen (Soho), Vatan (Murray Hill), the list goes on..
