UBC Community Affairs I just asked my Quirks question and Susan has just answered it. Something tells me my question won't be one of the winning ones:)

Have you ever wondered how sparrows survive the cold prairie winters, or why we get dark circles under our eyes, or why storms on other planets (like Jupiter) last for hundreds of years while storms on Earth last only weeks?

UBC Community Affairs For everyone planning events for Celebrate Research Week here are some great tips on how to integrate social media into your viritual or 'real' event.

As the organizer for Celebrate Research Week I sometimes hear that it is difficult to hold successful events. Getting bums in seats, engaging the audience and creating dialogue (buzz) before, during and after an event can be very challenging.

UBC Community Affairs The pancake race is a 4-person team relay race. Competitors run a course of 25 meters attired in a United Way apron over their standard attire. They must run with a frying pan and toss their pancake 3 times; if they drop their pancake, they have to return to the starting line and begin again. Each team member must run ...the course and the team pancake must remain intact.

Teams representing all areas of the UBC community will compete in this highly competitive team relay race being held to raise awareness of the UBC Community United Way Campaign.

Dr. David Farrar, Provost & VP Academic, will be the official starter and will ensure the International Rules of Pancake Racing are strictly observed.
