Katrina Kandoll Wednesday the physical therapist started me on VRT for vestibulo-ocular reflex dysfunction and I found the VEDA website. I'd never heard of such a thing, and I'm totally amazed at the scope of my symptoms that could possibly be caused by inner ear problems...fatigue, confusion? Wow, here's hoping the VRT can help!

Just found the site today, thank you VEDA! I have bilateral vestibular hypofunction and am constantly dizzy. I've been doing VRT for about 4 months and haven't seen much improvement. I know it will take a while, but it's frustrating. I constantly have a dizzy/moving/motion sickness feeling and it has impacted my li...fe severely. Doc just put me on nortriptyline to rule out any migraine related problems - it has made me feel worse. Thank you to everyone for posting your issues - it's nice to know I'm not alone! If anyone has any suggestions, I am VERY open!Read More

I'm totally with you on all those symptoms. If you live in Southern California, I can HIGHLY recommend England Physical Therapy for more individualized balance exercises. They work with The House Ear Institute. Check em out.

I have all the same symptoms plus more. It's been 30 years now. The one thing I have learned is that you cannot allow yourself to become discouraged, there are always new ways to help people with inner ear disorders, and remember not everyday will be the same. Take it one day at a time. Keep looking for answers.

Ellen Goudsmit Article in the current issue describes me perfectly. Not much help for those of us in the UK though.

Hello, Ellen. Would you mind letting us know which article you mean? If there's a resource that we're aware of in the UK, we'd love to help, and there are several active UK-based posters here who may have ideas as well. Thank you!

I'm a health professional, so know the NHS pretty well. There are hospitals with good units, but they are few and far between. I'm on diazepam, as recommended by a former VEDA medical specialist, and stemetil, when required. Exercises didn't help me.

Hi Ellen, I am also in the UK. I would be interested to hear from any others, particularly in the UK, who have suffered vestibular damage from Gentamicin poisoning

Hi Everyone, I just read about this facebook opportunity through VEDA. What a wonderful way to have a support group. I was diagnosed with Menieres Disease several years ago. I find that if I take a daily dose of Zrytec yes the one that we can buy over the counter it has eliminated my head spinning when I lay down ...or roll over. I was told that it works by drying up the fluid in the middle ear. Having that fluid there causes the spins. I also find that reducing my salt intake really helps me to get around better, plus i plain feel better. Let me know if any of you try the Zrytec and how it works for youRead More

VEDA on facebook is awesome. Fortunately I can be on the computer right now. It is not always like that. Sometimes I can't. If I am going to have a vertigo attack I begin by getting sweaty and hot, then a headache, my ears ring loud. My vision 'changes'. It seems like things are going too fast or too slow. My palms swe...at and I get sick to my stomach. That is when I know it is time to go lay down. If I haven't eaten, I try to eat something simple and easy to digest. Low sodium and no caffeine is helping. I am also going to acupuncture for the tinnitus. Low stress is my motto and I am always doing my best to lower it everyday, when I can.Read More

Hi All, My name is DizzyDiaz. I've had vertigo, due to stapes prothesis surgery failure, for over 20 years. I have always had a dream of creating Vertigo Village. A place that people like us can live and love and be happy. I've never had the $$ to do it in real life. So I've created a Vertigo Village on Facebook. Ple...ase come visit me. (I am now talking to myself on the site, and I need company). I have begun to start the village. No flashing lites, coffee isn't sold, transmitters like the ones on Star Trek so we don't have to travel. Help me design the perfect village for us. It is all make believe. How would we design the perfect living space if we had a chance to make it fully accomodable to our needs and desires? Please join me......goto Vertigo VillageRead More
