Are there ways we can organize our neighborhoods that would actually improve our society? Cohousing communities are small scale neighborhoods that are naturally economically, environmentally and socially sustainable. These communities balance private places with community spaces and social capital attaining true sustai...nability. Is cohousing an option you should consider? Ann Zabaldo of Takoma Village Cohousing will explain how cohousing works, and how you can apply its methods in your own neighborhoods right now.

Platform Address of Northern VA Ethical Society
Time:11:00AM Sunday, November 8th
Location:Green Hedges School (NoVES meeting location)

Northern Virginia Ethical Society
We hold occasional "Colloquy" meetings; typically twice monthly. This is a more intimate, participative experience than the standard Platform address -- many describe it as quiet, inspiring, calming, thoughtful. Colloquy is a time of quiet reflection centered on readings and musical interludes.
We are holding these meet...ings at Green Hedges School, in the Arts building (a small, white building across the parking lot from the main school building), in the lounge room in the basement.
Different volunteers, or our Leader, Jone Lewis, lead each session, and the topic is different each time. At a recent colloquy, for instance, the topic was "simplicity" -- and we explored that in all its complexity.
The Society is happy to provide accommodations for those with special needs. Please call Mary Ellen Stanton 703-631-7081 in advance.
Please join us and try out Colloquy!
