Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

Happy New Year to everyone as well. I hope you're all pumped to get going with your training program in 2009.

James, I'm sorry to hear about that - it must have been hard to go through. It might help to set some specific goals for yourself - particularly for upper body because by the sounds of it that's what you will be able to train the best.

Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

Thanks so much for the all the wishes - it's really appreciated! Adam, have you had a look at the NNMB program? It sounds like just what you need right now to get started. Definitely read through the program and be sure you're following not only the workouts, but the diet as well. Diet is really the key factor in building a larger amount of muscle mass.

Vince DelMonte (continued) Keep the food clean and you should do fine. The most important thing is really loading those carbs right around the workout - particularly after. Your body will just soak them up like a sponge, so take advantage of this.

Keep training hard.

Vince DelMonte Thanks for all the posts guys. Christopher, yes, I still think you could get good results without weights using bands, but you have to make sure the tension is there to apply the overloading stimulus. If you're really pushing yourself hard, it should be fine. And no, you definitely don't need to use a protein powder - it's often easier and good for around the workout, but otherwise I recommend real foods.

Try lean beef, chicken, fish, turkey, and eggs. These are all great sources.

Jimmy, congrats for wanting to stay off the steriods. That's a very smart decision. For sure, you do want to try and prevent insulin resistance. Having some healthy fats with a carb meal is okay though - just don't over do it.

I would recommend some fat with every meal (apart from pre/post workout) when trying to build muscle though, both to help get the calories up higher and help keep the body more anabolic (fats help with the testosterone production).

Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

Thanks for your thoughts Imran - for sure, natural is the way to go.

David that link isn't working... not sure what the video is.

Evan, yes, I studied kinesiology (exercise science) in university - really interesting program and a great way to get into the field. Best of luck with your studies.

Vince DelMonte Thanks for all the comments everyone - and Monique, other women have used the program and have seen great results - I'm sure you will too! It's awesome to see females getting more involved, and away from just doing cardio.

Evan, for sure, the program outlines a number of exact workouts you'll follow as you progress through, and now the new members-only forum has lots of people who are willing to share their ideas as well.

Imran, you got it, gotta keep a close eye out on those magazines. It's good to always have some type of filter up.

Keep training hard guys - and don't forget to send in pics of your progress.

Vince DelMonte to follow the programs to the exact letter, so just do your best. They've been designed to be somewhat flexible so that even if you do need to make a few adjustments, you'll still do great.

Just try as much as possible to stick to the plan as it's laid out.

Train hard,
Vince

Vince DelMonte Hey Guys,

Thanks for all the messages. Christo, you should look for a casein protein powder. Syntrax Matrix 5.0 is a pretty decent one if you want to check into it.

As for the other comments about fitting in the workouts, getting the meals at the exact times, and so on, keep in mind here that the two top priorities are:
1. Do your workouts following the guidelines as best as possible, while giving 100% effect each and every workout.
2. Hit the daily totals for calories/protein/carbs/fats each day.

Don't stress too hard if you have to shift around the workout times( but keep pre/post workout meals around the workouts, obviously), or if you have to go four hours between meals.

Get those calories in, train hard in the gym, and results will come.

Getting caught up in the finer details may just prevent you from actually doing what you need to be doing, which is going to be the biggest hinderence.

I realize it's not a perfect world and not everyone will be able

Vince DelMonte Hey Guys,

Justin definitely - give the 7 minute muscle program some thought. It's a great thing to use when you're pressed for time.

Gavin, have you been to my page? Sign up for my newsletter and e-mail course and you'll learn lots through there. Gaining that solid foundation base of knowledge is something I think you really need right now - and it sounds like you're already working on that.

Keep reading my e-mails...they will help.

Nishchay, I think what I'd recommend most to you is focusing on the main compound lifts. Take some time away from curls, tricep extensions and so on and put it towards bench presses, rows, shoulder presses, etc. They'll work the muscles better. Then make sure you rest enough and get in that food. It's nutrition here that'll really make the difference.

Keep training hard guys.

Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

Thanks for jumping in there again Andre. Nishchay, keep in mind that chip-ups you perform from an overhead bar, push-ups are performed against the floor, and dips you'll usually do off two benches (hands on either side). Andre's right, they are terrific for using just your own body weight.

Great to hear you're having results Justin - so many people get stuck eating too little and it only slows your progress. You should send me some after pictures once you're finished!

Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

Thanks so much for all your positive comments and feedback - I'm thrilled to be serving as motivation and as a role model for you.

Justin, yes, Isabel's program is a good one. Lots of interesting information when I read through it that you could apply to your program. Definitely give it some thought.

Make sure you guys send me in your pictures after using the program also - I'm always looking for more great testimonials!

Train hard,
Vince

Vince DelMonte Hey Joseph,

Andre is spot on with his advice (thanks for stepping in there!). You're really going to have to look at your overall diet program and training plan and likely do a complete overhaul.

I go over all of this thoroughly in my program so make sure you give it a good read through. I'll show you the step by steps to create the diet that will help you gain muscle, without gaining weight - important distinction there.

If you have any questions after you've read through the program, please shoot me an e-mail and we'll go over things about the program if needed.

Vince DelMonte Hey Ian,

Hmm, that's tough. Veggies are really going to help since they're lowest in calories. Maybe you can think of creative ways for him to prepare them so he will eat them? I'd try and go that route first. Two other options are sweet potatoes and oatmeal, but again, they are definitely higher in starch and calories.

Vince DelMonte Hey guys,

So happy to hear you're learning lots. Just keep training hard and the results will come. You all sound extremely motivated - which is fantastic.

Peter, sorry for the confusion on this, the product is actually all digital, so nothing will be mailed to you - you can upload and work through it all on your computer. This is at the bottom of my website, but many people do miss it. Did you get your username and password? If not I can resend them to you so you have access. I will be converting the product to hard copy in a few months, just not quite yet.
