HardinHomes A new tax credit for certain existing homeowners has been created. The amount of the new credit is $6,500. To qualify, an individual must have owned and resided in a home for any 5-consecutive year period during the last 8 years prior to purchase of a new home.

Latest Update on the Home Buyer Tax Credit! (FixHousingFirst.com)
There are a series of procedural votes
necessary to get us to our eventual vote to extend and expand the home
buyer tax credit. We
are happy to report that we are two steps closer to victory! A
lopsided 85-2 vote in the Senate last night was followed by anot...her
lopsided 97-1 vote today. The final vote in the Senate is expected
sometime after 6 PM EST tomorrow, Thursday, November 5. The hope is
that it goes immediately to
the House and then to the President for his signature.
We
will continue to keep you apprised but again, the swift movement and
lopsided votes here are a testimony to the great activism of this
group. You all have been tremendous, showing a level of activity that
other coalitions can only envy.

...The brigade of about 3,400 troops is moving from Fort Hood, Texas.
About 1,000 brigade members are now stationed at Fort Knox, and an
