A monitor should not need Windows 7. Many monitors say that they will work with the new operating systems, but there is no requirement for any monitor.

If the monitor has a wide white plug (DVI), then you may need an adapter to use it with the old standard (VGA). There should be no other compatibility issues with any monitor.

Virus Stompers Worried about the Facebook security "breach?" It may not be as serious as you think. Facebook has issued this message: "There have been misleading rumors recently about Facebook indexing all your information on Google. This is not true. Facebook created public search listings in 2007 to enable people to search for your... name and see a link to your Facebook profile. They will still only see a basic set of information."

Virus Stompers MY mother always taught me to share, but now is not the time to listen to her. WARNING: Be extra careful about sharing any data storage devices. There is a very nasty virus currently going around that can jump from an infected computer right onto your thumb drive or SD card within just a few seconds, and spread right b...ack onto the next computer as soon as you plug it in. Please contact us if you have any questions.

Virus Stompers Safety tip: Never login to a website using a link embedded in an email. There are many fake emails coming from sites such as eBay, PayPal and Facebook that will ask to you verify your login information. These sites look identical to the real ones and will capture your password if you enter it. The only way you should ...update your password is to go directly to the legitimate site using your internet browser, not your email. See this and many other safety tips on our Safety Survey page.

The author also points out this nice feature: "When you use System Restore, you can revert to a saved state without losing personal data including Word documents, e-mail settings and messages, and your Internet favorites list. System Restore won't lose any data you have stored in the My Documents, My Pictures, or My Music folders either."
