Vishten to Celebrate Christmas at the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre in Summerside

The award winning Island Acadian musical group, Vishten, returns from a busy season of touring major North American music festivals to present An Acadian Christmas Celebration at the Harbourfront Jubilee Theatre, Summerside, PEI on Dec. 11...th. The group has found time in their busy schedule to create a special evening of Christmas music deftly arranged in their acclaimed musical style complete with four part harmonies, fiddle, mandolin, accordion, penny whistle, piano and guitar. The audience is in for a rare musical experience as the melodies of Christmas standards are reinterpreted in a Celtic/Acadian sound in Vishten's unique way. The show will feature 10 Christmas songs along with some fiery instrumentals, step-dancing as well as a sprinkling of some of the band's newest material which is destined for their upcoming recording. As a rare and special treat, well known Island guitarist Chris Gautier will open the festivities displaying his guitar virtuosity, finger picking Celtic instrumental numbers.

Vishten features twin sisters Pastelle and Emmanuelle LeBlanc from the Evangeline Region of Prince Edward Island along with Pascal Miousse and newest member Louis-Charles Vigneau from the Magdelene Islands. Anyone who has not yet seen this newest incarnation of Vishten is in for a treat as Louis-Charles brings another lead vocal to the mix along with his unbridled enthusiasm for performing. Pastelle and Emmanuelle are some of the most skilled dancers to come out of the Evangeline Region and are highly sought after for their musical skills on their various instruments as well. Pascal not only brings his unique fiddle style from the Magdelene Islands to the mix, but also sings and plays everything else. Je suis guitariste alsacien et j'ai écouté avec grand plaisir votre concert à Saint Aubin en Août. Je suis vrai jumeau monozygote (comme on dit) et je trouve que Emmanuelle et Pastelle se ressemblent comme des vraies jumelles. C'est une très belle chose d'être jumelles. Double Trouble!!! n'est-ce pas?... Alors je vous fais de grosses bises a vous 4, Pastelle, Emmanuelle, Pascal et Louis-Charles.
Louis Charles je prendrais bien une bonne bière pour jouer de la guitare ensemble avec toi (-: J'aimerais bien également apprendre à jouer de la musique avec mes pieds, c'est à dire la podorythmie.
Je vous embrasse très fort et je suis impatient de vous voir à Strasbourg et surtout de découvrir l'île du Prince Edwards quand j'aurai plus de temps de libre.Read More
