I miss Duke's Diner (their fried clams were to die for!) and Surfside's both in Winthrop. I miss Roland's on the Lynnway. We celebrated many birthdays at Roland's. I can still remember the sugar cubes they would use to lit up the ice cream sundaes! I also miss Jordan Marsh's bakery. I loved their blueberry muffins. I am so excited that Jordan's ... See MoreFurniture in Avon hired the original baker from Jordan Marsh to bake the blueberry muffins for this Christmas season, while they display the original Jordan Marsh's Enchanted Village exhibit. I cannot wait to get one of those muffins!

Wow, some great memories here -- thanks, Janice and Rosanne. Personally, I really enjoyed La Groceria for the portions and prices. Very sad to hear Roland's in no longer around -- haven't been up that way in ages. Great to hear about the Jordan Marsh blueberry muffins returning to Jordan's in Avon -- might have five or six to make up for lost time!

Welcome, Brenda, glad you found us -- the fall has been a great one with lots of excellent foliage and some good weather! Jeff, I agree that the Haystack Mountain area is underrated as a New England vacation destination.

Thanks for these travel tips, Janice. Another great article! I think organic, "healthy" travel will become more popular as time marches on. You can even see it on the Mass Turnpike where Fresh City has created a more healthful eating presence for highway travelers.

Very nice time with caroling, Santa, Frosty the Snowman and a standing room only crowd (actually, there were no seats, so it had to be standing room only!).
