The 1913 murder of 13-year-old factory worker Mary Phagan and the resulting trial and 1915 lynching of Leo Frank, the factory's superintendent, are recalled via dramatic re-creations with actors Seth Gilliam and Will Janowitz and documentary segments.

Think origami is just paper planes and cranes? Meet a determined group of theoretical scientists and fine artists who have abandoned careers and scoffed at graduate degrees to forge new lives as modern-day paper folders. Together they reinterpret the world in paper, creating a wild mix of sensibilities towards art, science, creativity and meaning.
AFTER THE FILM, participate in a FREE ORIGAMI WORKSHOP led by the Greater Philadelphia Paper Pholders. Learn the basics, and more about the world of paper folding. Space is limited and sign-ups will be available at the door on the day of the event. Priority will be given to those who attend the film. BETWEEN THE FOLDS is the featured film for November 2009 in the ITVS COMMUNITY CINEMA line-up. Presented in partnership with local public television stations and leading community organizations, Community Cinema holds monthly preview screenings in select markets across the country, showcasing selections from the new season of Independent Lens and making a real contribution on a range of current social issues by connecting communities with organizations, information and the opportunity to get involved.

Paul Robeson's Philadelphia Years - Memories of Robeson's Philadelphia years are kept alive by the people who
knew him or just saw him sitting quietly on the porch under his
sister's watchful eye.

Marian Forsythe, Paul Robeson's sister, lived in Philadelphia in an ample, comfortable house at the corner of 50th and Walnut Streets. It was there that Robeson spent the last ten years of his life, from 1966 to 1976. He died on January 23, 1976 at age 77.
