The Nittany Valley Writers Network's next meeting is Tuesday, November 10, 7 PM at the Schlow Library in State College. The topic is Writing for Radio. Cynthia Berger will be the featured speaker. Berger, director of public affairs programming at WPSU-FM, will discuss the challenges and rewards of writing for public r...adio. WPSU listeners will recognize Berger's voice from "Sports that are not Football," "Bookmark," or the award-winning series, "Pennsylvania Radio Expeditions." In addition to writing for locally produced shows, Berger has written hundreds of scripts for internationally distributed science radio programs, more than 100 magazine articles on birding and biology, and books on dragonflies and owls.

WPSU SPORTS: The Penn State football fans who traveled to Evanston, IL were first hand witnesses to the second half dominance by the Nittany Lions. Northwestern led at the half 13-10, but Penn State scored 24 second half points and defeated the Wildcats 34-13. As the players walk off Ryan Field, the fans show their appreciation.
