Congressman Jones is a great supporter for returning veterans - to treat wounded warriors with Traumatic Brain Injuries (TBI) caused by blast incidents. TBI is considered the 'signature wound' of this war, and Congressman Jones is doing something about it. He also supported my student film documentary "BRAIN STORM: Oxygen Under Pressure." This ... See Morefilm is also competing for "Best International Student Film of The Year 2009." Mr. Jones should be recognized for his bold efforts to put pressure on the military to implement new treatments by the end of 2009. Thank you Mr. Jones - Merry CHRISTmas.

You shouldn't believe everything you hear from Washington. They lie to get your vote. And if you're looking to the government for a handout, you deserve what you get. Your best bet is to look within for the strength to work for what you need; and to your family, friends, neighbors, and community for a hand up rather than a hand out. That's the ... See MoreAmerican way. Pull yourself up by the boot straps.

The Constitution bequests to the government specific, enumerated powers in Section 8. And the 10th Amendment states conclusively that "all powers not expressly granted to the federal government, and not expressly prohibited to the states, are reserved to the states or the people". That's us. You will not get what the government is telling you you will get. What will happen...what is already happening is that you will continue to lose your freedoms and liberties until we are all part of the federal government machine. A lot of blood, sweat, and tear were shed so that we may live free of tyranny as we do today. I, for one, do not take that for granted; and I will not give up my God given rights to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness for the "promise" of free or affordable health care for approx. 15% of the American population at the expense of the other responsible, tax paying 85%... and most especially at the expense of the wealthiest in America who will not even avail themselves of this entitlement program because they can afford to PAY for their health care and do not require insurance. Quite frankly I would applaud them if they all took their money and left America because of the way our government cheats them and steals from them. How is that even remotely just? And why do we the people...the supreme power in this great country allow and even condone this?

And finally, before you belittle and smear Fox News viewers, watch it for a week. And not the opinion shows on at 5 and 9 pm which is what I'm sure you are referring to. Take your own advice and educate YOURSELF. Watch the news there. Put the cool aid down and watch with an open mind. I think you will find that you will not get more comprehensive, more thoroughly researched reporting of the news anywhere else. My momma used to tell me (and it remains good advice to this day) "it is better to remain silent and be thought a fool...than to speak up and remove all doubt."

I pray, DeeDee, that you do not ever need any help that requires government funding. You, madam, are precisely what is wrong with the whole tenor of debate in this country. I did not hear ANY of these cries of unconstitutionality or spending out of control during the 8 glorious years of George W.. Your distrust of government, in theory, makes sense... See More. In reality, the government does more good for the vast majority of Americans than harm. God help you if your insurance doesn't pay for any illness that you or your family may come down with. Let's see how quick you ask for government help then.

thanks for voting against the increase in the foreign aid bill. the next best thing would to lower the amount of money we do not have to foreign countries. i would not object if the aid went to the people that are in desperate need however from what i have observed it is stolen by the so called leaders and put in their own pockets.
