Walter Neary, Lakewood WA City Council: Walter's Lakewood Journal Interesting story about public records in Lakewood. I was interviewed, but am pretty glad I was left out of the story, as this is a tough one. But the bottom line is that any citizen should be able to see any document. I'm not normally a big fan of the Tribune's anonymous commenters, but one says rightly, the answer is... to process and make available the invoices, vouchers, etc. electronically so anyone can see them.

Walter Neary, Lakewood WA City Council: Walter's Lakewood Journal The city manager report this afternoon says Papa John's Pizza has provided a check for $141,855 for the families of the officers. That's an even higher amount than what I've seen in other reports. What a wonderful gesture that will keep on giving.
