Close your eyes and try to envision the typical 2010 Chevrolet Camaro owner. We're guessing there weren't many of you imagined a cane-touting Centenarian, but that didn't stop Virgil Coffman from picking up a 400 horsepower Transformers Edition Camaro SS as his new joy ride. ...

No. I believe my score would be undefined. Because that's the mathematical rule. I didn't invent it. If you have a problem with assuming that the limit does not exist, then go write to Newton.

You are trying me. I will allow that at the absolute limit where X= 0, rather than on the approach or as you called it, as x goes to 0, your answer of undefined is true. However, be aware that when a function approaches a vertical asymptote, such as at x=0 when one has f(x) = 1/x, you would describe the limit of the function as approaching -oo ... Several years ago, I got a flat tire at 5:30 the night before Thanksgiving. I put on the spare tire but then I didn't want to ride around without a good spare. I called my mechanic. He said it was too late but bring it in at 7AM on Thanksgiving and he would repair it. THAT, my friends, is dedication. The facility ...was (and still is) http://www.tirekingauto.com/index.htm Yes, I am definitely giving them a plug.Read More

Meltzer's Driver Training Center Dean Joyce: hey some jersey cop was just on tv telling people 1 car length for every 10mph lol. jeez! they are cracking down on tailgaters there.

Dean: 1 car length for every 10mph was what I was taught in 1970. That works out to be 1.25 seconds of travel time. The usual recommendation is now 3 seconds of travel time between vehicles.
.
History: The one car length distance was taught to long truck drivers during World War ll. Those trucks were 3 times the length of today's cars. THEREFORE, if we drove one truck length for every 10 MPH, it would be 3.75 seconds and work out well.

yup, i remember that from our recent convo a couple weeks ago. i find it interesting how now that NJ is enforcing the tailgating rule and handing out tickets, they misinform the public so they will tailgate.

Meltzer's Driver Training Center And Nadine just sent me: thought you would appreciate what I just witnessed here at work. A guy got out of his car and moved the handicapped parking sign to another area of the parking lot and proceeded to pull his vehicle into that space.....

This guy parks in front of the corner Dry Cleaners. His rear bumper is practically in the intersection. I think, 'That has got to be illegal.' So I looked at the road sign directly in front of his car. It said, "No Parking Here To Corner". Since I had NO IDEA, I looked it up on http://www.wiki.answers.com/Q/What_d...oes_No_parking_here_to_corner_mean and it had an answer. It said, "It means you may not park your car between the sign that says 'No parking here to corner' and the corner." How novel!! I guess he didn't get the memo.Read More

Meltzer's Driver Training Center What is on the mind of someone who tailgates a vehicle? Now how about when the vehicle in front says, in very clear letters, STUDENT DRIVER?

What I find frustrating is how people run stop signs, but can't seem to understand you can make a right hand turn at a red light if it doesn't specifically state your unable to make a right hand turn on red. It's a wonder how some people managed to pass there road test.

Maybe the sign on top of the car should read "THIS IS ROUTE 9, NOT TALLADEGA - QUIT DRAFTING".

I drove a van many years ago with a loose rack. One could turn the steering wheel two inches from center in either direction before it would react.

Meltzer's Driver Training Center Are you finding that when someone gets behind the wheel, they DON'T KNOW how to get places? Maybe: Shorter people, whether due to age, stature or physical condition, may not see over the dashboard of the car. They can't see the roads to learn the roads. When they are in the passenger seat, have them sit on cushions so they can see out the front window. They may very well learn the roads. Good luck.

I've been back in New York a year now. My observation is, and I'm sure alot of it has to do with cut-backs and cost-saving's, there seems to be a lesser presense of police on the roads today, and as a result people have gotten perhaps too relaxed, too willing to take chances. Its kind of like a kid not behaving, or pro...ne to doing things he or she normally wouldn't do when there parents arent home...Read More

You know Brian, I am not as anal retentive as some may think. If someone makes a "rolling stop", where they slow extremely, check traffic, it is clear, and they move on, I acknowledge that, although they ARE breaking the law, it MAY be safe. The case you mention, however, is total reckless(this time) driving and I am glad you are still around to write about it.

Yes, it comes with a 5 day guarantee. HOWEVER, I joined their new program. I actually am paying $30 per month and getting unlimited "Rain-X" car washes. I can go 10 times a day every day if I want. No, I don't think I will do that. But this car will not be dirty for long if it does get dirty.
