These 12 and 14-string guitars are designed specifically for the uncrossed tunings. The bass side is tuned the same as a standard 6-string bass, and the guitar side is tuned an octave above, making touch-style playing easier for musicians accustomed to standard bass and guitar tunings. String spacing is greater on the ...bass side so that typical right-hand bass plucking and slapping techniques may be used with greater ease.
