George Washington Today We followed up with staff and students who took GW's food stamp challenge last week--essentially trying to live on $4.11 a day for the week. It was harder than expected for many, who found themselves eating little of nutritional value and having to spend a lot of time planning their next meal. Our story details some of their experiences.

Just posted a story about GW freshman Caleb Seavey who has been conducting some pretty groundbreaking research at the NIH in xenotransplantation (the
transplantation of organs and tissues across species). Caleb is also about as connected to GW as someone can be: his parents are both professors, his sister is a student, and he was born at GW Hospital!

George Washington Today "I'm thrilled with Michelle Obama's emphasis on public service & can't wait to have her as this year's commencement speaker," says Tess Marstaller, a Trachtenberg School student (with a B.A. from GW), of GW's Veterans Day program. "I even made it to the front of the auditorium to shake Michelle's hand - what a high! ...Alma Powell was also wonderful; it was a treat to hear her speak and see her receive the award."

George Washington Today Does anyone know how to play cricket? We didnt even try to explain the game, but these guys are passionate about it (and a lot of fun too!). http://bit.ly/4Brk0o

George Washington Today Dick Golden just stopped by to say it would be a great idea for GW Today to see what music the GW community is listening to. Apparently, Golden, who has been listening to Tony Bennett, Ella Fitzgerald, Duke Ellington, and Wynton Marsalis, has been stoping folks in elevators and asking them what they are listening to. A...nyone want to share what's been playing on your iPod?
