In a city where power struggles take place daily on Capitol Hill, another power struggle is taking place beyond the monuments; namely between Damion Eric Cross, his girlfriend Crystal Renee Leonard and his girlfriend, Madison Paige Robinson. You can only juggle so long before you drop a ball, and eventually, in a town ...as city slick and country cool as Washington, DC, the two women are bound to discover one another. But how do you manage the truth once you know it? Is it possible to love two people at once? Is it possible for one man to stay faithful to one woman in a city bursting at the seams with beautiful, professional women and an obvious shortage of good brothers?
7:33 a.m. is an unusual usual love story about time, and timing. Let me explain: one man loves two women simultaneously, which can be considered unusual; an unexpected love triangle occurs, rather usual, well, I guess that’s a matter of opinon; the likelihood the two women will find out about one another…only a matter of time. You can only juggle so long before you drop a ball, and that comes from bad timing.

Author and poet, Monda Raquel Webb lives in Rockville, Maryland. Currently, she works in Corporate America, sells real estate, has made several appearances on HGTV as a featured Realtor on the hit series Get It Sold and pursues her passion, writing, in her free time. Born in July, 1968, Monda began writing poetry and short stories before she was 10. She attended the University of Rhode Island on a basketball scholarship and switched to track in 1987, where she held the school triple jump record of 40 feet for several years. She graduated with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism in May, 1990. Monda is currently working on a book of short stories entitled, “Red Clay Dirt and Mountains,” and another poetry book entitled "No Apologies.”

What is racism? In spiritual terms, racism is unrepentant corporate sin. Groups of people, nations, initiated this sin and in America, there has never been repentance not even by way of an apology. Even though slavery, the seed of racism, ended over a century ago, because this sin has not been overcome in the spiritual... realm, there lingers an intangible stagnancy, In The Sin of Racism, Selena Johnson reviews some of the historical milestones related to racism: the slave trade, American slavery, pseudo-scientific racism, and the current cultural divide through a Christian evangelical lens.

The purpose of The Sin of Racism is to enlighten individuals to racism as a sin, helping them to overcome it so they can receive the gift of salvation through the Lord Jesus Christ. For those already saved, it is an exhortation to restored relationship to God concerning this issue. There have been many valiant attempts to overcome racism based on human-centered priorities. There have been many needed gains. However, God’s way is the best way. If we refocused the center of the battle on spiritual warfare/spiritual healing, would it not erase racism permanently?

Selena M. Johnson is a member of the Grace United Methodist Church where her husband, Paul W. Johnson is pastor. She is a certified lay speaker, Sunday school teacher, evangelist, and dance ministry leader. Her secular training is in architecture. She did her undergraduate study at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her graduate work at the University of California, Berkeley. A registered architect, Selena Johnson has worked at some of the nation’s finest architectural firms and taught architecture at Morgan State University.

In Step Out on Nothing, Byron Pitts chronicles his astonishing story of overcoming a childhood filled with obstacles to achieve enormous success in life. Throughout Byron’s difficult youth—his parents separated when he was twelve and his mother worked two jobs to make ends meet—he suffered from a debilitating stutter. ...But Byron was keeping an even more embarrassing secret: He was also functionally illiterate. For a kid from inner city Baltimore, it was a recipe for failure.
Pitts turned struggle into strength and overcame both of his impediments. Along the way, a few key people “stepped out on nothing” to make a difference for him—from his mother, who worked tirelessly to raise her kids right and delivered ample amounts of tough love, to his college roommate, who helped Byron practice his vocabulary and speech. Pitts even learns from those who didn’t believe in him, like the college professor who labeled him a failure and told him to drop out of college.
Through it all, he persevered, following his steadfast passion. After fifteen years in local television, he landed a job as a correspondent for CBS News in 1998, and went on to become an Emmy Award–winning journalist and a contributing correspondent for 60 Minutes. Not bad for a kid who couldn’t read. From a challenged youth to a reporting career that has covered 9/11 and Iraq, Pitts’s triumphant and uplifting story will resonate with anyone who has felt like giving up in the face of seemingly insurmountable hardships.

Byron Pitts is a contributor to 60 Minutes and chief national correspondent for the CBS Evening News with Katie Couric CBS News. He has received several awards including a national Emmy Award for his coverage of the Chicago train wreck in 1999 and a National Association of Black Journalists Award. He is also the recipient of four Associated Press Awards and six regional Emmy Awards.
