Lauinger Library, Georgetown University Steven R. Ward, author of Immortal: A Military History of Iran and Its Armed Forces, is a senior CIA intelligence analyst who specializes in Iran and the Middle East as well as a retired U.S. Army Reserve Lieutenant Colonel. He has served in various analytic, managerial, and policy positions covering Near East and Sout...h Asian security and intelligence issues. In addition to a degree from the United States Military Academy at West Point and the University of Southern California, Mr. Ward received his MA in National Security Studies from Georgetown’s National Security Studies Program in 1992. His article “The Continuing Evolution of Iran’s Military Doctrine” was published in The Middle East Journal in 2005.
