Newseum Do you think the press coverage of President Obama has changed over the past year?

No. Coverage is the same. Topics are changing.
People with irresponsible political agendas need someone to blame, instead of seeking solutions for the USA.

After the CNN coronation, even pre-election, there was a sense of "walking on eggshells" whereby the media would barely sniff at an Obama misstep. Guess the honeymoon is over!

All News is Local
By Sharon Shahid, Thursday, January 7, 2010

When big news has huge consequences for a city, state or perhaps the entire nation, the best front pages have the story covered. Today's Top Ten include a mixed bag of political and social issues that may mark the beginning, as the C...onnecticut Post puts it, of "a whole new ballgame."

Failure to Communicate
By Gene Mater, Wednesday, January 6, 2010

This may seem like last week's news, but it isn't. Last week, President Barack Obama complained about the "systemic failure" of the security systems that allowed a suicide bomber to come close to blowing up an airliner. Today's bi...g story is about the failure to connect the dots, with the President saying we must and will do better.

A Feat of Engineering
By Bridget Gutierrez, Tuesday, January 05, 2010

The Burj Khalifa, the world's tallest building, opened Monday in the chic desert city of Dubai. Today, the $1.5 billion, 2,717-foot-tall skyscraper towered over the world's newspaper front pages. The news was big even in Taip...ei, which used to claim the tallest title for Taipei 101. That building stands a mere 1,667 feet tall. Yawn.

Hi, Jay. Thanks for your comments. If you haven't already, take a look at the rest of the front pages in the online exhibit. You'll find others that worked the tower into their nameplates, including The Tribune in San Luis Obiso, Calif., and The Royal Gazette in Bermuda.

Kids, Glorious Kids
By Sharon Shahid, Monday, January 4, 2010

We thought we'd start the New Year with front pages that make you smile. With much of the country facing record-breaking cold and ice, and airport security still on people’s minds, nothing warms your heart better than photos of children and animals.

“Failure” Tells It All
By Gene Mater, Wednesday, December 30, 2009

Fail is a four-letter word, but President Barack Obama used it when he talked about the “systemic failure” of the nation’s security systems that allowed a suicide bomber to come close to blowing up a plane on Christmas Day. The ...word shows up today in various forms on the front pages of many U.S. dailies.

By Bridget Gutierrez, Tuesday, December 29, 2009

The attempted terrorist plot on a Detroit-bound airplane on Christmas Day continued to dominate newspaper front pages after Al-Qaida claimed responsibility, and President Barack Obama vowed to bring the plotters ...to justice. Leading off today’s Top Ten: The Detroit News, which has a chilling story about a local couple who spotted the would-be terrorist before the flight.

Terror Alert
By Sharon Shahid, Monday, December 28, 2009

Front pages at the end of the decade are looking much like they did at the beginning: with photos and stories of airport security and headlines asking “What Went Wrong?” Kudos to The Virginian-Pilot for a headline that got right to the p...oint: “Born to Wealth. A Devout Muslim. A Lazy Student. Now, A Suspected Terrorist.”
