Megan Smith

Megan Smith Hello PFPS friends, Megan here. I saw a report on ABC News that many
employers are using not only education and work history but also credit
history to determine who get's hired and or fired. Is this a standard
practice in the industry? I posted the videos on my page for anyone
interested. Thanks

The application for the 2009-2010 Federal Service Student Ambassadors program has launched! The Ambassadors program inspires students into federal service, helping not only the government but the millions of Americans it touches every day.

Federal Service Student Ambassadors receive support from the Partnership for Publ...ic Service as well as a competitive stipend for the duration of their service. The Fellowship allows students to utilize and expand their cross-campus networks, build a community of support for federal service, and contribute as a member of the national campaign through regular communication with fellow Ambassadors across the country.

Please be sure to pass this exciting opportunity to students who will spend the summer of 2009 interning in a federal agency in Washington, DC! More information and the application can be found at http://www.makingthedifference.org/ambassadors.

Friends of the Partnership--Please sign the petition for Roosevelt Scholars Act, a new idea that will help the federal government recruit the best and brightest talent in key fields.

http://www.ipetitions.com/petition/RooseveltScholars/

The Act will create a scholarship program to fund graduate-level education in key ...mission-critical fields (e.g., engineering, medicine and public health, foreign languages, information technology, and law, among others) in exchange for a federal service commitment.

The model is similar to the military’s ROTC program, which has proven to be an outstanding source of new talent for our nation’s armed forces.

Also, help us spread the word by asking others to sign the petition!
