Washington State Democrats Chair Dwight Pelz just posted on his Seattle P-I blog about the health care reform bill and how it's an historic victory.

blog.seattlepi.com
The Senate health care bill will be an historic victory for working families in America. The legislation will not be perfect, but once it becomes a federal policy matter, Congress will be forced in the future to improve the system and root out the inefficiencies and inequities.

Washington State Democrats We are close to real health care reform! Sign this petition to show your support & share comments w/ Sen Patty Murray.

I agree completely with your analysis. Those are my beefs, also. Nelson from Nebraska can kiss off. I hope there is a strong Democrat that can unseat him.

Rich- Thats one thing that I admired about LBJ...his ability to negotiate, cajole, kick-ass and get things done! He was a consumate dealmaker...and he didnt give up the farm to get what he wanted...he used any means neccessary...even to shame people into doing whats right.

The fact that he was notorious a-hole and Ladybird was Frankenstein's bride doesnt detract from the fact that he was a friggen steamroller and made the Representatives and Senators do their jobs...represent the people who elected them, not the special interests!

While Patty Murray is a great human being and a moral pillar, she is in way over her head and the thugs in power have her number...Thats why LBJ was so effective...nobody had LBJ's number! He had an awesome change-up and knuckle ball that had the opposition swinging away at their shadows!... See More

We should dig that SOB up and put him to work...he would accomplish MORE WHILE BEING DEAD than most of these stiffs do while breathing!!!

This is a wonderful outcome and I am once again proud of the enlightened minds of this part of the country. Be prepared for the next battle, though; the religious right and the bigot and the 'phobes are already planning their next move to overturn this.

Washington State Democrats Time to focus on health care reform. :) Check this out - Cathy McMorris Rodgers, Republican from the 5th Congressional District, calls the health care bill and "internal" terrorist attack.

Washington State Democrats This clip from last night's Colbert Report is a must see, as Colbert takes on the anti-R71 petition signers.

www.colbertnation.com
The petition signers who want to overturn the "everything but marriage" bill should be able to stay in the closet that the gay people have abandoned. (05:48)
