These were shot in October 2009 in preparation for this year's Miss ND USA and Miss ND Teen USA pageant.
I didn't shoot all the contestants so to see ALL the contestants go to www.missnorthdakotausa.com
Matt Lentz shot the others and he did great work - I encourage you to go look!
Also, big hats off to the stylists and m...akeup artists. Did a great job in getting the "right" look.
This old hollywood glamour look was complex, but a ton of fun to shoot.
Great job to all the contestants and I wish you all luck with the competition!

This is a cool concept for artists. I only wish I lived in a bigger market where this is more likely to happen. Don't see it happening here in Watertown - but who knows. If any of you out there DO own a vacant storefront - let me know :)

“Pop-up galleries” are taking hold in New York as development advocates and landlords are turning to artists with vivid imaginations and splashy exhibits.

I found a fun photography resource today called Camerapedia.org, a wiki that is essentially a repository of information about all still camera brands and models. I wrote a blog entry on Camerapedia and my specific history of cameras at http://pjaphoto.spaces.live.com/default. aspx

PJ Anderson Photography I take a lot of photos flowers, so I decided I'd create an album dedicated to that. I'll update this album on a regular basis.

For those of you here that are interested in photography - Mpix.com posted a link to 50 Free Resources That Will Improve Your Photography: From Smashing Magazine. I haven't drilled in on the details yet, but it looked interesting. http://www.smashingmagazine.com/2009/08/ 30/50-free-resouces-that-will-improve-yo ur-photography-skills/

Photography is a wonderful hobby enjoyed by lots of people all over the world. It's a very enjoyable passtime, but also a very technical one.

PJ Anderson Photography Another photo from Chicago. I guess I'm kind of in the mood to push photos into the surreal or even toward the look of a painting. Here is another example on the shores of Lake Michigan.

Finally made it out to shoot some photos in Chicago today. Of course, the rain and fog came in today! Just my luck. But, sometimes the best photos happen in imperfect weather. Here is a photo of the skyline of Chicago with fog surrounding taller buildings. I applied an HDR Style (high dynamic range) and it came ou...t with a neat surreal feel. PJ Anderson Photography Anyone want to test drive my new photography website before I announce it to the public? I'd like some feedback.

Sica Hollow State Park is one of my favorite places to escape to nature. I hope to photograph this park on a very regular basis in 2010.
Sica Hollow has a great legend that you can read about here: http://www.bluecloud.org/38.html
More details also on my blog: http://pjaphoto.spaces.live.com/

PJ Anderson Photography While I was processing some images in Adobe Lightroom tonight, I decided to try out a neat effect I found on the National Association of Photography Professionals (NAPP) website. It is a "Surreal Grungy" look. I tried it out on this old truck I photographed at Itasca State Park. You can read more about what I did and see before/after photos on my blog at http://pjaphoto.spaces.live.com/

PJ Anderson Photography While working on my new website, I ran across this photo taken at Crater Lake National Park and I thought it might give you all a smile! I'm SO glad it is a wonderful summer day today!
