Wayne State University Press Bring the kids to the Carr Center on Thursday night, 6pm for a storytelling and poetry event with InsideOut Literary Arts Project! Ages 3-7 will have fun "Becoming a Bird" then learning to turn their ideas into their very own poems. This is another in the "Book Club @ the Carr" series of free literary events, 311 E. Grand River in Harmonie Park.

Jim Tottis, author of The Guardian Building: Cathedral of Finance, will present the Bicknell Lecture at the Grosse Pointe War Memorial (32 Lake Shore Road, Grosse Pointe Farms) at 7:00 p.m.

The event begins with a wine reception, followed by the lecture at 7:30 p.m., and a booksigning and dessert reception at 8:30 p.m.... This event is free and open to the public.
