We Can Power The World
Harnessing "human energy" to promote a renewable future!
Dear Friends,
As some of you may know, our group's founder, Andrew Duggan, is also an Ironman athlete. I wanted to let you know he's working to raise money for the charity auction for a slot in this year's championship. It's a great opportunity to raise our profile... and promote renewable energy - millions of people tune in to watch these events, and there's always lots of press covering them. Donations are tax deductible and go to some excellent causes such as Habitat for Humanity and the American Cancer Society. Please take a moment to read his story athttp://www.andrew-duggan.com/?page_id=83. Any support would be greatly appreciated!
Sincerely,

We Can Power The World
We’re standing in the middle of a garbage dump, and we’ve never been happier.
It’s hot and dusty here at the Tijuana Municipal Dump, yet it’s all smiles among the schoolkids that greet me at Colonia Fausto Gonzalez.
Amid what Mother Teresa called “the world’s most destitute” community, a group of humanitarians called Res...ponsibility have created a school that is bright, clean, and full of life. Looking at the children in their school uniforms of white shirts, red sweaters, and gray skirts for the girls, you’d never guess that they were the children of hundreds of families of pepenadores, people who earn their living scavenging the municipal dump for recyclables.
But right now their school is without electricity. Your help is needed to brighten their lives. Read full post: http://wecanpowertheworld.org/profiles/b log/show?id=2172258%3ABlogPost%3A1601Read More

Nicaraguan community needs water...
We've met with the founder of the non-profit group Responsibility to discuss providing solar-powered water purification to a destitute community in Nicaragua. We have an opportunity to show that even in the worst times and places, renewable energy offers a way forward. If you're interested in getting involved please let me know!

We Can Power The World I'll be talking with the BisTalkRadio team about alternative energy investment strategies, and how this new "green tech boom" presents an opportunity to create real social change on a global scale.

We Can Power The World
Looking for volunteers!
We will be meeting on Sept. 4th with a group in Tijuana that is running a school and community center in one of Tijuana's most disadvantaged areas, the Colonia Fausto Gonzalez. Soon thereafter, we'll need volunteers to help us with installation of renewable energy to power this community. We'll ...be doing a full survey of the area in September, but as of now it looks like most likely a combination methane and solar setup (methane because, believe it or not, the community is actually located in and around the Tijuana Municipal Garbage Dump). Please let us know if you can help, and share this message so we can create enough manpower to make this a reality. Thanks for your support!Read More
