Well Pict Berries Question from a consumer: 1. Sometimes strawberries get nearly rock-hard in the fridge. It's not from washing them; they just turn that way. Any ideas? 2. Do I really have to wash the berries before eating? They already seem to immaculate.

I am wondering if you are putting them in an area of the fridge that is to cold? My fridge has spots that get cooler than others and have found my berries are almost to freezing/hard if so. You might try putting on another shelf. Just by cooling them they will harden up a bit- that is why I find it best to pull out strawberries and put on the ... Read Morecounter to come closer to room temperature before eating. They have a softer bite and I think the berry flavor really comes out as well.
On washing- while we do pride our selves on immaculate and beautiful berries we always recommend washing before eating. A water rinse right before eating will usually do the trick.
