Wellesley Magazine Fun facts from a recent survey of incoming students: Of 498 respondents, only 10 were bringing desktops. 45.2% have Macs, 48.8% have a Windows machine. Only one respondent wasn’t planning on getting a computer. 78.7% brought iPods.

Wellesley Magazine The end of an era: This year, the College discontinued landline phone service in dorm rooms. 90% of the class of 2013 brought cell phones with them to campus. Last year, only a handful of students requested having landline voicemail service. Most students didn’t even know their extension. There are now, however, severa...l public landline phones in each dorm. And the odd hamburger phone in a dormroom… purely as décor.

This 105-year-old alumna notes that the '27 class notes column has been blank for some time, but writes, "I know there are many of us still around, undoubtedly in wheelchairs. But we look down on our feet and thank them for the many miles they have carried us a...nd the sights we have seen." Her full letter will appear in the class notes section in fall.
