Wes Weddell Wouldn't rather be anyplace else!

Songwriting Scene is a blog for songwriters about songwriting. I have been a busy singer-songwriter for the past 10 years (you can check me out at www.sharongoldmanmusic.com), releasing three solo CDs and, most recently, a CD with Sweet Bitters -- a duo with my good buddy Nina Schmir. ...

Wes Weddell is excited to perform as part of Seattle Drum School's songwriter series, Second Saturday Songs, in its 'Little Auditorium in the Back' (L.A.B.) tonight at 7pm.

Wes Weddell will have a new CD sooner than later!

This year, Folklife has added singer/songwriters to its roster of music communities that get their own showcases. Rather than host a performance of select individuals, these events will take the form of open, unamplified song circles in the Lopez Room on Saturday and Sunday. *Anyone* is welcome to share an original s...ong, but there will also be space for those who would just like to listen.
What makes singer/songwriter music different from anything else one might encounter at Folklife is that it is original music, and these open 'Emerald City Song Circles' allow individuals to network within the community in ways that might not present themselves in a traditional concert setting. Designated hosts will be on-hand to keep things moving and start new circles as appropriate. Other guidelines:
• Anyone can join a circle and share an ORIGINAL song during his/her turn. No one has to.
• Listeners are encouraged to hover and...listen!
• Songs should be 5 minutes or less in length, and appropriate for all ages.
• If a circle gets too big, appointed hosts will start a new one.
• Please listen quietly and appreciatively whether inside the circle or out!
• This is not intended to be a jam.
• This is not indented to be a songwriting workshop.
• Please keep feedback upbeat & positive!
