The invite to this Manhattan Dance Scene event arrives enclosed in a custom made envelope created from original subway maps. The invitation is a two-fold metro card which unveils a map of the New York City Subway System (vintage rendering, and current version). Vignettes include black and white Manhattan landmark ph...otographs, large custom air-brushed canvas resembling a brick wall with graffiti (sign-in board for the guest of honor), table tops adorned with retro new york city maps, train schedules and tokens. Menu prominently features traditional hot dog stand vendor with umbrella, hot pretzels with various toppings, New York style pizza and Chinese food complete with black and white polka-dot Chinese food containers. This two hour workshop, (offered annually the first Sunday in December), is open to the public and promotes the vintage tradition of uniting families to create gingerbread houses. Our company sets the ideal "winter-wonderland" stage and offers multitudes of "sugarplum visions" to create your perfect home. . . the pre...-cut gingerbread foundations ("structure" of the home), the mortar (aka icing), building logs and shingles (pretzels, chex and chocolate), and a plethora of colorful, decorative glistening sweets: (licorice laces, lollipops & gum-drops, good & plenty", m&m's, jaw-breakers and red-hots, silver dragees, "hershey bricks", gumballs, and eatable snowballs: coconut and powdered sugar). . . all the ingredients you'll need to create the perfect "home sweet home".
