Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? Added a new photo of WHTTWOT "In the Wild" taken by Joe Cislowski at an appropriate spot in Disneyland's Tomorrowland. It's terrific, Joe, thanks a lot!

More photos of WHTTWOT observed by field scouts in its natural habitat: bookstores, shelves, tables, tombstones, rocket engines, in the company of cats, and anyplace someone sees it and wants to send me a picture.
Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow?

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? is one of 54 graphic novels recommended to public and school librarians by the Texas Library Association, whose influence extends far beyond the Lone Star State. It's a nice honor by a respected group of book lovers, and much appreciated.

Brian, what a remarkable accomplishment. I am sure this Texas nod is hard to come by. Bravo!

We have Book Passage in Corte Madera, but no Copperfield's in Marin. I will check what we have. Great seeing you too.

Some stores got it, some stores don't. It's an unfathomable mystery to me. I love Book Passages, though; great shop.

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? UPS just brought me a copy of the German edition of WHTTWOT, titled "Und Wir Träumten Von Der Zukunft" ("And We Dreamed About the Future"), and it is very cool! More on my blog:

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? got a great review from Kathy Ceceri for "GeekDad" on Wired.com. Wired's GeekDads (and GeekMoms) are dedicated to the goal of celebrating geek culture and history, and passing it on to their kids--or, as their tagline says, "Raising Geek Generation 2.0." These are my people; if they didn't "get" WHTTWOT, no one would. ...So I'm very glad Kathy did.

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? I'm making plans for the Miami Book Fair, where I'll be speaking on Sunday, Nov. 15 at 1:30 (less than two weeks, geez!). I'll be doing a panel (can two people comprise a "panel?") with Neil Kleid, author of the grapnic novel "The Great Kahn." Never met him, really looking forward to it.

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? added another two photos to the "In the Wild" photo album, these shot by friends-of-the-book Jim and Nancy during a visit to the Kennedy Space Center in Florida. I especially like the one in which my book looks about 10 stories tall. Very thoughtful, Jim and Nancy, thanks again and always. (And hey, "In the Wild" now has TWO PAGES of pics!)

Note to readers: Whenever I post a new "In the Wild" photo, I update the "album cover" to reflect the most recent addition, which changes the thumbnails on all the other related posts (like the one immediately below). If you like these things, be sure to check 'em out so you don't miss any new ones.

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? added two new photos to the "In the Wild" photo album, including one that continues the theme of "Cats Curious to Learn Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow." Thanks to my friend Marion, who sent them both.

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? I finally got around to assembling a Press Kit for WHTTWOT: my publisher's press release, a few pages of good reviews, plus some pictures. It's a little background info intended to help journalists and reviewers do their jobs, and it warmed my heart to see all the good reviews collected in one place (don't know what ha...ppened to the bad ones, hmm . . .). No big deal, but if you're curious and for future reference, I parked the PDF here: http://www.momscancer.com/Fies%20Press%20Kit.pdf

Whatever Happened to the World of Tomorrow? adds FIVE new photos to the "In the Wild" photo album showing WHTTWOT in various locales. Four of them are from the tireless Jim O'Kane, who seems determined to drag my book to every super-cool space-related artifact in the country and photograph it there. As I told Jim privately, he doesn't have to keep doing it but I...'m sure not going to stop him! Cool pics, many thanks Jim.

Brian, Jim's goal in life is to see and photograph every single spaceship ... well, ever. Your book happens to be fortunate enough to tag along with him in his travels. Just think of his copy of your book as one of those traveling garden gnomes!
