WhiskyCast This week marks the 4th anniversary of the first WhiskyCast episode on November 12, 2005. Thanks for listening!

WhiskyCast Two milestones to celebrate during November! The fifth year of WhiskyCast starts this month, and you helped set a new high for monthly downloads during October. More than 40,000 downloads of WhiskyCast episodes shattered the previous high set in September. The audience for WhiskyCast is growing worldwide, and I'm grateful for your support over the last four years!

Mark, On your recent Q&A episode, someone asked about good whisky bars on the West Coast. I thought I would share two great places for people visiting the nation's capital: Bourbon (bourbondc.com) has two locations in DC and offers an extensive array of bourbon, rye, and other American whiskies. Then there's the Sco...tch Bar at the Willard Hotel near the White House, which offers Scotch whiskies in 1/4 oz tastes or 1 oz pours. A great way to sample a pretty wide array of Scotch.

WhiskyCast Knob Creek bourbon is flowing again...just talked with Fred Noe, and they started emptying barrels of whiskey distilled 9 years ago today! Should be hitting stores in plenty of time for Thanksgiving...details on the next WhiskyCast...

Jeff Berlat Mark, I am going to be in Lexington this weekend. I am touring Makers Mark friday morning and Woodford Reserve at 2pm. Is there another distillery I can sneak in between the two? What else should I be looking out for? Any other events going on in Lexington? How do we get more Whisky events in Houston?

WhiskyCast I'm going to start putting more tasting notes into the new newsletter and only do a couple in each show...seems too long to do 5 or 6 whiskies each week. You can sign up for the free newsletter at the WhiskyCast web site!

WhiskyCast Just published the new episode of WhiskyCast featuring Parker Beam's big party in Kentucky this weekend, along with a Gold Bowmore tasting, chef Charlie Palmer and more!

WhiskyCast Good news...I mentioned the difficulties Amrut's US importer was having getting label approval from the TTB (the Treasury Department agency that regulates liquor sales). They have received final approvals, and will be able to import Amrut into the US. The red tape means imports won't happen in time for the holidays, though!

WhiskyCast Tasted the new Gold Bowmore today over lunch with Andrew Rankin, Eddie MacAffer, and Jamie McKenzie of Bowmore...amazing whisky that gets a 98 in my book (highest score I've ever given)!

WhiskyCast Just posted the annual Q&A episode of WhiskyCast with your questions and answers from experts, along with news on the new Wild Turkey Tradition 14YO bourbon!

WhiskyCast Tasting notes in the next episode for the Kilchoman Inaugural Release, the Knappogue Castle 1951, and maybe a few more...depends on how much tasting time I get today! ;)

WhiskyCast Will be in New York City Tuesday and Wednesday for the U.S. Drinks Conference...

WhiskyCast Will be interviewing Parker Beam of Heaven Hill later this month in Bardstown...if you have questions you'd like me to ask him, please post them here or e-mail me!

WhiskyCast I'm setting up a monthly e-newsletter to help keep you updated on upcoming episodes, tour stops, and more...sign up today at the WhiskyCast web site! (No spam, I promise!)
