Gwen, the owner and founder of Trifles, is a phenomenally talented baker and artist. She made both our wedding cake and our groom's cake, which was designed as a surprise for the groom to look like Spaceship Earth (the park icon in Epcot at Walt Disney World), and both of them turned out better than I had imagined, not to mention tasting absolutely fantastic. The quality of her work is something that ourselves and most of her clients do not forget; I'm sure we will be going back to her for more cakes in the future.

I researched nearly 20 cake companies in the metro Detroit area looking for the best value without having to sacrifice design and flavor. Gwen was able to make my beautiful cake for an affordable price and still have a different and unique flavor for each layer. I noticed a lot of designers limit you to 1 or 2 flavors or they have each cake already paired with filling. Gwen may make suggestions but the decision is up to you. We went to our tasting and as I was talking to her about what I like and don't like she busily sketched away. Magicly she designed my dream cake. It's almost like she was inside my head. She has a very good knack of sketching a person's personality into a cake. I will admit I dislike cake but Gwen's cake is delicious!
