Whittlins 'n Wood -- Wood Carvings and Wood Sculpture Deadline...Quality....when there's a choice, I'd rather miss the deadline than compromise the quality of something that will bear my name. Missed the deadline on "Chief Joseph Attean", but it was iffy to begin with. At least I retain my integrity, and that is more important to me.
Whittlins 'n Wood -- Wood Carvings and Wood Sculpture Crunch time! If he's going to be at the show, he needs to be shipped..overnight argh!...by tomorrow afternoon. Tonight is carving class night, so I'll work on it more later.
Whittlins 'n Wood -- Wood Carvings and Wood Sculpture Getting there. I'm still not sure I'll get it done in time or that I'll even be happy with the likeness, but we'll see. I must admit that I am enjoying the challenge and the change of pace.
Whittlins 'n Wood -- Wood Carvings and Wood Sculpture This project is raising old logs from the bottom of the Penobscot River and selling the wood to artists and woodworkers. This piece of wood was given to me to try...and to carve something for the Heritage Foundation Collection. The theme has to be either Native American or logging.

few years back I was commissioned to do a carving of Athena...the
Palladium. This would be a trophy for a college football rivalry
between Middle Tennessee and Troy State. Admittedly this was a stretch
for me, but I welcomed the challenge. The alumni
association representative who commissioned the carving has been
wonderfu...l, updating me with information and photos. Today he informed
me that ESPN2 will be televising the Middle Tennessee/Troy game Tuesday
(at 8 PM ET) and that when the game was on ESPN two years ago, there were
lots of shots of the trophy. It's not every day that one of my carvings
is on national television! :)Read More
