Wild Woman Network: Radio for Creative Vagabonds, Thinkers and Innovators Here is the fan page for Ken Alston, Jr. Please visit it and become a fan.
Kenneth D. Alston, Jr., a native of Bronx, N.Y., sings with a voice hailed by The Baltimore Sun as “Heart-piercingly beautiful.” His vocal range spans five octaves and is leading him to pioneer opportunities not only for himself but for performers across the globe. In June 2007, Alston broke ground in Beijing, China, a...s he arranged and directed the music for the international premiere of the play Passages of Martin Luther King. He and four other singers became the first African-Americans to perform on a stage in China with Chinese actors. The performance included China’s most elite actors of stage, film and television. That performance followed Alston’s accompaniment of the Czech Philharmonic Orchestra in summer 2006, as soloist for Porgy and Bess during the International Prague Proms Series in Prague, Czech Republic. Later in 2006, he debuted with the Charleston Symphony Orchestra and its Gospel Christmas performance. A graduate of Morgan State University in the studio of Mrs. Betty M. Ridgeway and the famed Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art & Performing Arts, Alston has emerged as a national and international virtuoso, tackling music, theater and television. Kenneth is preparing for his run of Three Mo' Tenors in Edmonton, Alberta and his first run(Music Director/Singer) of Passages of MLK in St. Petersburg, FL.Read More

Wild Woman Network: Radio for Creative Vagabonds, Thinkers and Innovators I saw this on Twitter via Jonathan Fields and then Mike Monastero sent it to me. Mike did my radio icon- he is great guy doing good work. Jonathan is no slacker either. This article makes me long for this kind teacher. Go Annie.

One of the new exciting things I get to do is interview wonderful people on my radio show. Some of my guests are million dollar authors. Since I co-facilitate a writers group I am always interested in hearing the stories of how people can take their book ideas and make them a reality. The other day I went to the book s...igning for Gary Vaynerchuk and the launch of his new book CRUSH IT! Why Now is the Time to Cash in on Your Passion. He has a huge following of devoted fans and then turned out in force to hear him talk about just getting out there and doing it. It makes a difference to hear someone who walks the walk. After all if your publishers signs you to a ten book deal it might mean you are doing something right.
Much later, at the after party, I was able to get a one minute video interview with Gary as he discussed not being different then you or I (except for the 10 book deal).
In essence I may not have his huge personality but I still have passions, dreams and goals that can be achieved with hard work. At the end of the day it gives me hope to see someone make it. I’ve got passion. Don’t you?

My one minute interview with Gary Vaynerchuk at the after party for his book launch at Borders Books, NYC on October 13, 2009. Did Gary really push somebody? Did @OzSultan give Gary a cookie during the filming? Is it Loud there?

Wild Woman Network: Radio for Creative Vagabonds, Thinkers and Innovators My guest Kenny Moore mentioned an interesting book on yesterday's show. Daniel Pink's A Whole New Mind: Why Right-Brainers Will Rule the Future says the keys to success are in developing and cultivating six senses: design, story, symphony, ...empathy, play, and meaning.
