Wilkes County animal shelter kills pets in a gas chamber. Sad but true. Animals struggle for their last breath. It turns out that it's cheaper to use the injections like they use at the vet clinic. Wilkes uses injections for part of the animals but lots of them still get suffocated to... death in the gas chamber. Pleas...e write the commissioners and ask that they stop this now.

interesting. Now that there's the possibility the speedway will be reopened, a book called "Speedways" has been released with the subject matter old derelict race tracks.
From what the ad in the Motorbooks catalog I received yesterday N Wilkesboro is on the list and is featured - in fact, the cover photo looks suspiciously familiar.

In a show of "Community Unity" Speedway Associates Inc.has opened this press conference to the public requesting that they come and sit in the stands wearing their favorite driver's shirt/jacket past or present.
