New Hanover County, North Carolina 15 New Hanover County Fire/Rescue officers have completed an extensive two week course in fire officer training. The training was conducted by the Maryland Fire and Rescue Institute, a division of the University of Maryland. Major topics covered in the course were; ethics, establishing a partnership with the community..., budgetary process, and emergency services delivery. At completion of the course they received certification as Fire Officer III, a National Fire Protection Association standard.
New Hanover County, North Carolina New Hanover County Manager Bruce Shell has announced the hiring of Tara C. Duckworth as the county’s new Parks Manager. Duckworth comes to New Hanover County after working for the city of Wilmington since 1994. Tara served as the City's Superintendent of Recreation and Downtown Services since 2002. Duckworth replaces... Neal Lewis, who retires as New Hanover County Parks Manager in April.
