
Wake Forest University School of Law The Wake Forest Intellectual Property Law Journal is pleased to welcome three new members to our staff: Thanh Ngo, Emily Cantrell, and Arlene Mu. These students were selected based on their interest and experience in intellectual property.

Wake Forest University School of Law Each October, the WFU Public Interest Law Organization (PILO) sponsors an auction to raise money to fund scholarships for those who are interested in taking summer jobs working in public interest, which are typically unpaid. This year, the auction raised over $15,000.

Improvements could be made to NAFTA. It would be better to merge all the side-trade agreements between the United States and other individual countries with NAFTA. However, the U.S. includes labor and environmental provisions in these side trade agreements as well.

Law Professor John Knox, who has helped organize the symposium, is an expert in the areas of international law of human rights, the environment and trad...e. For four years, he chaired a national advisory committee to the Environmental Protection Agency on the environmental organization created by the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA), the North American Commission for Environmental Cooperation. His coauthored book, Greening NAFTA, is about NAFTA's effort to further free trade and environmental protection in North America.
