Wisconsin Early Childhood Association Parents and the High Price of Child Care: 2008 Update (Interesting info on costs in WISCONSIN!)
The National Association of Child Care Resource and Referral Agencies (NACCRRA) recently released Parents and the High Price of Child Care: 2008 Update (http://www.naccrra.org/docs/reports/price_report/Price_Report_2008.pdf). The report offers current data on the average prices of child care for infants, four-year-old children, and school-age children in centers and family-based child care throughout the United States. The report also provides recommendations to increase the availability of affordable and high quality child care.

NAEYC Applauds Early Childhood Educator Provisions in Final Higher Education Bill
The National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) is pleased that its recommendations recognizing early childhood educators as a critical teaching workforce are included in the bipartisan Higher Education Act conference bill. The House has passed the bill and the Senate is poised to vote later today. The bill will then go to the President for his signature.
