With Someone Else's Money

We were founded in 2001 by two girls who wanted to make a cappella available to the masses. They wished to form a group so that students who might not be affiliated with the UGA School of Music would be able to participate in musical activities. They also saw a need for a co-ed group on campus.

With this vision, the two girls held auditions and the new group was formed. The name is rumored to come from a billboard in the Athens area that read, "Even Bill Gates started with someone else's money."

Since that humble beginning, Wsem has gained a strong presence among the musical groups at UGA.
