Women's Funding Alliance Higher premiums just for being a woman?? C-sections and domestic violence considered pre-existing medical conditions?? Check out the video on the "Being a Woman is Not a Pre-existing Condition" campaign website -- and make your voice heard!

Health care isn’t fair. Women pay more for the same coverage. Yet we’ve been left out of the debate on reform. It’s time to make our voices heard. Watch the video and tell Congress to make affordable, accessible and comprehensive health care a reality this year.

Women's Funding Alliance Ready to be OUTRAGED?! Domestic violence considered a "pre-existing medical condition" by some health insurers?? http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113574189 http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=113574189

Some states permit insurers to deny policies to people who have received treatment for domestic violence. Now there's a move to prohibit the practice as part of a health care overhaul.

Women's Funding Alliance Now is the time for health care reform. 13.9% of women under the age of 64, in Washington state, are uninsured. How would your life be different without health insurance?

I haven't had health insurance since I lost my fulltime job at the end of October last year! I worry everyday & I've curbed my activities. I do try to eat well: local & organic produce from farmers markets, no fast food, probiotic, little meat... But I've been very stressed out!

I completely understand as I have not had healthcare for about two years, my current employer doesn't offer it, and my D.P.'s coverage to add me on is $600+ per month. We're raising our three children (who do have healthcare) and just can't afford that kind of price tag.
