WonderRandy Be sure to mark your calendars. This is seriously a NOT TO BE MISSED, one time only event! October 12, 7:30pm, UHHPAC. "The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later", by Moises Kauffman and the Tectonic Theater Project. A staged reading by the Gasp Theatre Company.

WonderRandy And brilliant performances by some of Hilo's strongest actors: Justina Mattos, Jackie Pualani Johnson, Katie Lambert, Jake McPherson, Joyce Stevens, Nick Brosseau, Mark Lewis, Felix Kuo, Laura Andres, Laura Caswell, Steve Peyton, and moi...

WonderRandy What an amazing show. So powerful, so very moving. Much of it is frustrating - "so much change, so little progress." I can guarantee I'll be a complete wreck by the end. I have a couple of really intense speeches that are just guy-wrenching...

WonderRandy Rehearsal last night was pretty intense. It's really hard to express just how deeply this project is affecting me. To recreate the actual people who are still living this story is tremendously humbling. I'm just an actor. These people - their WORDS - are real, and more poignant than anything I've come across before.

In October of 2008, ten years following the killing of Matthew Shepard, members of Tectonic Theater Project returned to Laramie to interview again the people who participated in the original Laramie Project, for the purpose of writing a new play, as an Epilogue. ...

WonderRandy I'm focusing on character development first, hoping to to justice to these very real people. And I'm hoping to spread the word about the performance as much as possible. This is a One Night Only event, being staged by 130 companies around the world. If there's a production near you, PLEASE attend! This is seriously important stuff!

WonderRandy Rehearsals are underway for "The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later." Our first read-through (oh how I love the first read-through!) gave us a strong sense of what to expect from the show. I felt like I had been kicked in the gut when it was over. We still don't have a final script, so it's a bit of a challenge to really work the material.

WonderRandy I just had the opportunity to read the Draft script for "The Laramie Project, Ten Years Later: an Epilogue," and I'm pretty shaken up. This is going to be a POWERFUL show, that will challenge all of us as actors. It will be rather challenging for the audience as well. Like the original Laramie Project, there are no ...tidy resolutions, and there are more questions than answers. I'm blown away.

WonderRandy I got the call! I'm in the show! This is going to be a big deal, I think. I won't know which parts I'll be reading until the read-through on Thursday, and I don't know who else is in the cast. It's a huge honor to be a part of this. The original Laramie Project was a ground-breaking piece of Theatre, and the littl...e bits that I've read of the new script promise to be just as powerful. THIS is why I do Theatre!

WonderRandy Important audition this evening. I'll fill you in later... Hold your breath for me, okay?
