Lynn Shaw

Lynn Shaw We adopted a dog from wood green some years ago and when we lost Wilfie we went to adopt another one but we didn't get a look in the excuse was we were both working, sorry but a dog gets used to the home he or she is in and we had a loving home to give to a dog and we were turned down. It is getting harder than child adoption now and that is wrong. By the way no one from the shelter ever came and checked on Wilfie and believe me he had a lovely life even if we were out at work all day.

Sara Jones

Sara Jones So angry !! Your phone number is ridiculous ! I had to sit through such a huge 'speel' of information to check on a dog I had seen on your website only to be told she can't be housed with cats !! It would have been helpfull to A) phone straight through to someone and B) have all the info on your website ....God help me if I need to make another call.

Wood Green Animal Shelters
Hi Sara
Unfortunately every call to Wood Green is different so we need to ensure that we have as much general information as possible to cover all enquiries. We do aim to have as much information as possible on our website regarding the animals looking for homes and what will or won't be suitable however it may be that areas are missed if a member... Read More of staff is called away to deal with the animals here onsite. The majority of dogs on the website do have information about whether they can be housed with cats however this can be missed on occassions. Apologies.

Thanks, probably didn't need to 'rant' quite as much just dread having to make another call.
Rob Minney

Rob Minney me and my girlfriend are gutted every dog we seem to want has an age limit for children on them as we have a 9 month old it is so hard :( but i wouldnt mind but iv had a staffie from woodgreen and was told he wasnt allowed near other dogs or young children and i trained him that well he was fine with them all. just wish we could have the dog we want she would go to a loving home and be looked after.

Wood Green Animal Shelters
Hi
I'm sorry that you haven't found anything suitable, please do contact the staff should you be interested in a particular animal so that they can talk to you individually about whether that pet may or may not be a suitable animal for you. We do treat each request on a case by case basis and the child ages stated are in most cases open to discussion.
Vikki Atkinson

Vikki Atkinson Orli (previously know as Jess) has now learned how to play with her toys. She has a squeaky toy which gives her endless joy and her bone has been buried in several places while it is not being massacred. She seems happy to be settling in where there is a lot of love and attention. The hugs are the best, though!

Becky Murray

Becky Murray Why is so hard to get through to the shelter I've been trying for 2 days now just to ask about a cpl of dogs, the only thing is i don't want to go to the shelter if they r not there as it will be wasting my time as i live in a village.

Wood Green Animal Shelters
My appologies for you not having any luck getting through by phone - if you would like to drop an email through to info@woodgreen.org.uk with your telephone number I will make sure someone calls you back right away.

Just to make you aware though our website is now updated every 30 minutes, so all of the dogs we currently have will be featured there and also available for rehoming. If they have been reserved they are marked so.

I hope that helps.

Awful long message before you can talk to someone .
Dawn

Dawn Would like to wish her special girl Tia a very happy 7th Birthday today - Tia was brought into Woogreen Godmanchester aged just 2 weeks old and was looked after by Alan & Jackie until she was old enough to stay in the puppy block with Donna. She was called Cinders then - here she is the day i bought her home.

Vikki Atkinson

Vikki Atkinson Orli (known as Jess last week at Woodgreen) is settling in nicely at her new home. We finally have her playing with a bone, enjoying tummy rubs, and smelling flowers in the village green. She is enjoying car rides to various parks and can't wait for her daddy to get home every night. Thank you for rescuing us by letting us have Orli! Oh, and we've only had one accident in the house in 5 days. Not bad for a puppy!

Donna Wilby

Donna Wilby This Bandit (who was Harry at Woodgreen), we brought him home on Monday and I can't believe how well he has settled in - he is already part of the family.
I just wanted to let the staff at woodgreen know he is fine and settling well and that he was absolutely fine with the cat - totally ignores her although might take a bit longer for her to get used to him :)

Diane Jones

Diane Jones This was our dog Ben who we got from Wood Green about 10 years ago. Sadly he passed away a few years back, but he was gorgeous and had a beautiful temperament. We are hoping to adopt another dog in the near future.

Cheryl Davitt

Cheryl Davitt We adopted Hufflepuff from Godmanchester on 1st June and just wanted to say a great big Thank you to all the staff who helped him and made it possible for us to have him! He is gorgeous and is ever so happy and fun. Thanks again!

Nick Mayhew

Nick Mayhew Would love to talk to someone who currently volenteers at woodgreen or who has done in the past.....

Mandy Ward

Mandy Ward I am an ex wood greenie i have now been gone for about 12 years now, but last year got lola 107447, she is wonderfull and i love her to bits evan though she is 7 years old she has settled in as though she has been with me all her life.

Johnston Doggs

Johnston Doggs As an ex Wood Greenie, (KD 14954) myself, I would like to thank you for all your hard work. I was adopted in May of 2003 by my family with very severe hip dysplasia, they were told that I would probably have to have a hip replacement within a year, or that I may suffer so much that they would only have me for a very short time. I have gone beyond all expectations and am now 8, I have the odd wonky crunky day, but am still acting like a youngster at all times. I love everyone, and spend my best times trying to gatecrash picnics at the park!

Christine Gooding

Christine Gooding nice to hear from you keep up the good work think you do a marverless job love to all christine

Sharyn Simper

Sharyn Simper This is our Bud just a proof that Staffies looked after with responsibilty and love are angels!!!

Jo Ratford

Jo Ratford This is Teddy from the Wood Green! I could only have him for about 2 months and due to a relationship break up had to give him back. It broke my heart. He is the kindest, most cool, loving and fun dog ever! I hope he is having lot's of fun and hugs with his new family! Staffy's rock! x

Tammy Gray

Tammy Gray this is amber my mother in laws dog and she also is so dosile and loves to play wiv my children she pines when they go home, she is such a fantastic dog

Tammy Gray

Tammy Gray this is maye maye, or mayesoon if she has done something she shouldn't, lol. she is just over a yr old and is my 2 yr old daughters dog. she is so loving towards us all and who ever comes around its unbelievable. i have 2 daughters 1 of 2 yrs old and another of 4 months, and maye idolises both of them as do they her. i couldnt imagine life wiv out her and would strongly recommend tis breed to any 1. i trust my dog wiv my childre more than i do adults 100%. i get very annoyed wiv all the bad press in which this breed gets, as people do not understand every dog can attack any1, it is the way in which they are cared for and loved which makes any dog they way they are not the breed

Jayne
This is Reggie, I have 3 Staffies and they are the most loving, family orientated dogs I know - I have 4 children and my dogs are extremely wonderful as family pets - very gentle and would give kisses all day long if you allowed them to lol
Wood Green Animal Shelters

Wood Green Animal Shelters Thank you all so much for you Staffie pics and messages! Keep them coming and we will be in touch if we want to use them as part of our campaign message.

Karen

Karen This is Zuki, my Staffie X. As you can see he is absolutely adorable! He loves to play frisbee, fetch and roam free in the woods. He is soft and gentle and while completely scatty is highly intelligent - extremely focussed when there is a sausage involved! He picked us as his family, convincing us both the other one wanted him when neither of us wanted another dog! He made easier the void from the loss of a father and Jesse, our previous dog, and neither of us knows what we would have done without him!

Heather

Heather I would just like to say Thank you to the lovely lady I spoke to this morning at Dog intake when we had to bring Clyde back!(I didn't catch her name as I was a tad too emotional)
She was very kind and understanding for what was a bit of an emotional time for me.

I know Clyde will make someone the most amazing dog, sadly he just wasn't right for us!
