It's a Nord Lead 2x which I have indeed finally got working with an analogue input. And yes, it does do Hammond-ish sounds but I didn't write the setting down so it might be a while before I find the recipe again.

Phew - it's over. Second place is actually good - first and third were holidays which would have meant finding the fare to the USA - a fine ambition but not as immediately convenient as sitting at home in Scotland and waiting for the postman to deliver an iPod Shuffle, which is what I've won. I really, really appreciat...e everyone's voting efforts too - more than I can say without coming across all gushy and oscar-acceptance. It came as a very pleasant surprise to get as much support as I did for this song - thank you.Read More

Woodstock Taylor is pretty sure she was a runner up in the KIAC Song Of The Year Contest, but couldn't get the live results stream or chatroom to work for more than a couple of seconds. Will post more when there's a bit more info available.

Marathons do strange things to the mind. But I'm sure Paula Radcliffe gets much more exhausted than this when she's pushing towards the end of one of her races...

Thanks Brian - and thanks again for the guitaring! It's such fun when the music in your head actually turns into reality. Doesn't happen often enough but it did in this case.
Hope everything's going well with you.

Woodstock Taylor is really sorry to keep banging on about this, but she would be ever so ever so grateful if you would consider a final voting push to help her get to the final of this contest. I'm told finalists will be announced soon but am not sure how soon - could well be tomorrow. I'm currently #2 in the category finals but need to be #1 to get through to the grand final. pretty pretty please!

OK - they have made an announcement and I'm really confused now because and it turns out there's ANOTHER round of voting now. So this is now the genre final - I think - golly it's confusing. But anyway, all your generous voting has worked and Tongue-Tied is still there at #2 - now it's just a question of getting it to stay there for another couple of weeks.

Woodstock Taylor has discovered that the strange beeping noise in her kitchen is coming from a highly musical lightbulb. All she needs now is for the traffic to stop long enough for her to record it.

It's extraordinary. Started of just as a kind of constant annoying beep for about 24 hours, but now plays a pleasant and perfectly formed little 8-bar tune every time you turn it on. I've tried to record it but can't get close enough yet - only getting very faint beeps, loud clock ticks and a lot of traffic noises from outside the window. I will need to recruit someone to turn on the light while I stand at the top of a ladder with the microphone.

Up to third place in the Classic & Retro genre in the KIAC Song Of The Year Contest and trying not to get too excited about it. Thanks SOOOO much if you've been taking the trouble to vote (I actually do mean that even though it looks a bit fake), and please don't be shy about doing it again, if you feel the urge. The c...ounting machine allows you to do it up to 10 times a day. Obviously I would love to win, but aside from my own feeble desires I'm starting to feel quite righteous about the brilliance of the musicians on this track and how they jolly well deserve some sort of accolade.

I really love that tune as well (not just saying that, I've voted for it quite a few times) - noticed the quality of the backing vocals straight away; doesn't come as too much of a surprise to learn who it is, though I didn't know. And Steve Ison is right there next to us as well with Lou Reed. I'm all excited to be up there with the likes of Sly and Steve.
